Inspired

At church today we received this packet, and it was filled with simple, short messages with a general theme of what I took to be as appreciating the little things in life. I was inspired to write this short entry today in hopes of inspiring someone and to show how I was inspired, myself. This lesson I learned today, is in itself, a little thing. I, personally, have been fascinated with everything in life. Ever since I was young, I've found myself staring at everything I came across in awe, appreciating it's whole existence. I had known in my heart, since I was young, there is something great about this Earth. It's not only found in the people of the Earth, but in the nature of it. How could one take a glance the sky and not think that there isn't some kind of plan for us here? Maybe because it's just a glance. Maybe people don't take the time out of their busy, hectic lives to look longer, or look closer. There is much that goes on in our lives that we take fo...

Music and Favourites

I was just thinking about sharing some of my favorite songs with you today. Old or new, I love music and it's been one of the most influential parts of my life. There a lot of opinions about how the oldies were much better than music nowadays, but I totally disagree! I wasn't born in the 70's or 80's, but I've heard that music, and I like it! But I like some music now, too! And just because music now isn't the same style as the music back then doesn't mean it still doesn't rock! Sure, over time, we've added more base and technological stuff, but not every song is a winner. And you have that one song out of a million which can change a whole generation, and the whole feel of it. Sometimes we just have to respect certain things, even if we don't necessarily accept it. Stop bagging what you think as horrible music, because somebody else could love it. We all have different tastes in music, and our job is to simply respect their taste and move on. Wi...

There is Beauty in Everything

There is beauty in everything. I don't know how, but God leads us ways that we couldn't possibly imagine. I'm going to tell you a few experiences that definitely left me feeling blessed by God. I, of all people, have such incredible blessings from him; I can't even fathom why I deserve half of them. Like, all my troubles go away and are left into the hands of Heavenly Father most times I've struggled lately. Not a week ago, I was stressing over the fact that something was holding me back from going on a mission: money. I thought that I wouldn't be able to go because I hate borrowing any kind of money from the church whatsoever if I were to pay for some of it and I also wouldn't be able to earn that money on my own. But the other night, I decided to pray and afterwards, and I wasn't expecting it, but I got this overwhelming peace that going on my mission was one of the most important things I was to be doing at this time and the money shouldn't matt...

Lord of the Rings: Themes

Everyone interprets movies in different ways; it's true. You gain something new from a movie, book, or a tv show and it's some knowledge that you have never known before. It can be inspiring, uplifting, or even depressing but no matter what, you gain new knowledge from it. I recently (and as in recently, I mean maybe an hour ago) just finished watching, for the first time, Lord of the Rings. And before you say,"What, this chick hasn't seen Lotr before?" let me tell you that when I was really young, I would watch parts of it and then I mistakenly labeled the movie as boring and for a perfectly plausible reason at my age. That reason is being I never saw the beginning, but only parts of the movie and because of that, was never able to understand the story and the meaning behind why these hobbits and elves and wizards etc. were teaming up together to defeat these creepy goblin things. So it wasn't my fault I had no idea what was going on. Any other kid probably...

Choice

Why do we do the things we do? Why are we the people we are? Why do we perform in such a way that we can maybe someday call ourselves successful? And even when we reach that success, why are we never satisfied with it? Or why are we? We had a discussion previously in one of my high school classes about the reason why we have the characteristics that make up our personality we have today? Are we just born with them, or do the influences around us make us like that? Well, I think it really is a mix of both. We are kind of born with our own unique personality. Yes, maybe from the start, it looks as if we are all just crying babies. But as we grow, we react and handle to different things in many ways. And many could argue that that the people around us could be affecting every choice we make. A toddler may mimic his father by yelling because he can't have any candy. But consider siblings born in the same situation. Obviously it won't be in the EXACT same situation as the other si...

Society, Change and Dr. Seuss

Before I start, I'd like to apologize for missing a couple days on writing for this blog. I'm really just apologizing to myself since nobody reads this anyways...But still, it's the respectful thing to do. Another thing is I want to point out that my blog is my personal opinion about things so please don't take offense to anything I may say. I try to keep this blog respectful of other cultures, people's opinions, etc. and to be real with you, and since nothing I say is guaranteed to be correct, who cares? Voicing personal opinions here, just saying. Alright, well today I'd like to talk about a few matters that have been on my mind involving society and our media. I guess my mind is just mainly boggled about the way media has influenced our society in so many ways. You know, I hear a rap song every other day about drinking, going to 'the club', wasting your life away, having nonchalant attitudes, being rich and famous, and other things and I understand ...

Frozen and Tangled, A New Disney

Image
feministfiction.com   movies.disney.com So, ever since I saw Disney's Frozen,  I have been comparing it to Disney's movie, Tangled,  and I highly doubt I'm the only one making this comparison. So, which one is better, many people may ask. Personally, I like both; they each have their own uniqueness about them. The first time I saw both Frozen and Tangled was in movie theaters, and I was blown away both times. It's kind of hard to compare the two, as they are two such great, inspiring and valuable stories, much of what Disney is notorious for. They both share many similarities including similar animation, kingdoms/castles, journeys with strangers, horses that can understand you but can't really talk...but the moral of these stories are completely different. From what I perceived, Tangled was all about following your dreams and being a light that destroys all the darkness in the world. Frozen's message was...

Yoda is Beautiful.

I always find myself straying away from this blog but I promise that I'm not doing it intentionally. It's currently 4 a.m and I am having a go at my late night writing once again, but this time it's because I am off track from school, I'm organizing my wordpress blog, and just to throw it in there, it's my time of the month. Now that i got that out of the way, I can finally express myself and I will try to in the least confusing way possible because I have the potential to slip with my mind all being exhausted and whatnot. First off, this blog is going to be my personal blog, where I post all my rants and thoughts about life in general and I'm going to try and keep up with it everyday (I've been using twitter for my rants but now I just realize that was dumb because how are you supposed to suppress all that emotion into 140 characters? That's right, you can't). Now, let's get down to business to defeat the huns. Since it's basically still t...
